The synthesis method and application range of tert-butylamine

The key of developing rubber accelerator TBBS is preparation of the main raw material of tert-butylamine. Tert-butylamine is an important lower aliphatic amines.Due to the particularity of molecular structure , the synthesis are difficult, and at the same time also limits the development of rubber accelerator TBBS.

Firetly, the synthesis of tert-butylamine following three ways:

1 Tert-Butyl urea water the media Causticization hydrolysis method

Tert-butylamine is through the raw material urea synthesis and tert-butyl alcohol tert-Butyl urea, then get hydrolysis. Only using high boiling point solvents and at high temperature, the hydrolysis of tert-Butyl urea-calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide hydrolysis can be used. At present, because high boiling point solvent and high temperature production techniques there is difficulty, resulting in a higher cost of production of tert-butylamine, the use is restricted. The method is based on the water replacing the high-boiling point solvent, not only reduces production costs, but also creates the conditions for the industrial production of tert-butylamine.

2 The isobutylene ammonifying method

At present, developed the ammonia and isobutene direct gas phase catalytic manufacture of tert-butylamine, select ammonia and isobutene ratio of 5:1, at a high temperature (350 °C) and high pressure (300 bar), the use of iron - silicon catalyst to get the tert-butylamine selectivity for 6%.

3 N-tert-butyl phenethyl amide hydrolysis method

N-tert-butyl phenethyl amide hydrolase method is that benzene acetonitrile and tert-butanol through the reaction of sulfuric acid to generate the N-tert-butyl phenethyl amide. N-tert-butyl phenethyl amide  hydrolyzes and  becomes sodium phenylacetate ontert-butylamine, and then steamed out of the tert-butylamine, and the residue after acid precipitation of phenylacetic acid.

Secondly, the application range of N-tert-butyl

N-tert-butyl is mainly used for the preparation of environmentally friendly rubber accelerator TBBS .The advantages of rubber accelerator TBBS is that in  the curing process it does not produce carcinogenic nitrosamines, and has performance of the general sub-sulfonamide accelerator. So it is China's radial tire vigorously production necessary for of raw materials, new technology development of high purity and low cost of tert-butylamine has great practical significance.
